Yıl 1183. Her modern-zaman politikacısı gibi, Britanya'nın Kralı 2. Henry (Peter O'Toole) de, karısını balolara götürmeyi ve onu halka teşhir etmeyi yalnızca zaman zaman faydalı bulur.
