Film, ideal eşi olarak düşündüğü Grégoire'in zamanla karanlık yanlarını gören Blanche'in hikâyesini anlatıyor. Blanche, Grégoire ile tanıştığında ideal eşini bulduğunu düşünür. Tutkuyla birbirlerine bağlanırlar, aynı eve çıkar, birlikte Blanche’ın ailesinden uzağa taşınırlar; artık yeni bir hayata başlamışlardır. Ama zaman geçtikçe Blanche kendini bu son derece sahiplenici ve tehlikeli adamın pençelerinde bulur. Grégoire’ın görünüşteki sakinliğinin altında hasta ruhlu, karanlık, her şeyi kontrol ettiğini düşünen bir canavar yatmaktadır.
